Be sure to bring your mobile device with you; we'll be working with the apps (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides and G+) and sharing files. What are the limits? Advantages? Disadvantages?
You'll need to log into your GAFE account (UAF or school district Google account) so bring your password & user name.
I've set up a G+ Community for us, please go to G+ and request to join Mobile apps Fairbanks. If you haven't used G+ yet, you'll need to join first.

Getting Started in Google Sites
Limited Capacity seats available

This session will cover what Google Sites can offer you as an educator. We'll talk about what's possible and look at some excellent examples of district, school, grade-level, classroom and portfolio sites. We'll get familar with how sharing works and talk about what we're able to do in our GAFE domains. If time allows, we will briefly touch on adding users, differentiating page permissions, determing site openness, and commenting. This will not be a hands-on session, so come prepared to share your thoughts and listen more than click and type.

Attendees interested in a full site-building marathon should definitely also attend Thursday's 3-hour session "Design Your Course Site" led by Jennifer Moss and Sean Holland.

This event will be streamed live on Google Hangouts on Air!

Click the "Presentation" button above to go to a more detailed webpage on the Summit's Google Site.

Embed Everything
Limited Capacity seats available

Considerations and motivations for "embedding".

Before covering the means, we'll discuss some of the benefits of embedding content generated or residing on one service into another service container. How does it affect your user? The student? Your content? Does it promote collaboration, discussion and maintenance?

After developing an understanding of best practices, we'll cover the "How To". This will be more of a "how to fish" session, rather than "here have some fish I caught for you" type of presentation.

Expect part of the session to be hands on, editing your own material. It will be helpful if participants bring examples of content they wish to embed to augment the in-class examples provided.
